System Performance Issues Affecting Turnaround Times

All iRIS users have been experiencing significant performance issues since the system was upgraded on 4/17/22. These issues are impacting all aspects of the system, but especially the IRB review components. As a consequence, study teams may note unavoidable delays in study screening, generation of stipulations, IRB approvals, and outcome letters until system performance can be restored by the vendor to an acceptable level.

We have identified a number of specific issues, and the vendor has repaired some of these. But while there has been some improvement, overall system remains performance remains poor. We continue to report issues to the vendor for additional remediation.

If you are experiencing system sluggishness, please wait until the browser’s status indicator shows the action is complete and refrain from selecting additional actions in iRIS. The vendor is reporting that poor performance is being exacerbated by multiple clicks for the same action.

Please know that we are working diligently with the vendor to correct this problem, and we hope you will notice improvement within the next few days.
